I wouldn't reccomend replacing it yourself as you need to bleed the brakes when you replace it (unless you are mechanically able). I like car.
I have had 3 Discovery 3's a 54, 55 and have a 57 still. I have had the EPB problem with all of them. It is a common fault, most of the time it is fixed by cleaning. Or an electronic reset. I bought a device to do this as the dealers charge handsomel;ey for this 2 minute job. Right now, my 57 is stuck and completely locked up on the EPB.
First of all, probably not much is wrong. You are not looking at a new $10,000 transmission regardless of what anyone says. This by the way is the standard fix/response at most Mercedes dealers and not always at Land Rover dealers. If you have more than say 80,000 miles on your LR3, probably you could consider a transmission oil and filter

Just took the truck in a three hour trip and by the Ultragauge the temperatures are fluctuating around 230-240. Over the last few trips, I’ve noticed it’s been slowly creeping up. It used to cruise around 195 or so at highway speeds and then creep to 200-205 at stops. Then it started creeping up to 210-220 while at slow speeds.
