6. Feb 13, 2010. #1. I was hoping that someone could advise me of what they think might be wrong with my 2006 Discovery 3. The problem which has occurred recently is that when starting the car from cold, the acceleration is really sluggish and even with my foot to the floor, the pick-up is really slow. This has put me in a couple of dangerous Hitachi to AMK compressor conversion. My installed compressor is still fine however starting to show signs of its age. I have now embarked upon the purchase of an AMK conversion kit which comes with "all the bits" apparently.
