Some of us may simply have more lobe space than others for multiple piercings or maybe you wear glasses and a forward helix piercing may cause irritation. This is where the professionals come in.
The answer is yes, but it is important to be careful. Cartilage is a type of tissue that is not as strong as bone, so it can be easily damaged. When wearing headphones, make sure that the earbuds or headphones are not too tight and that they are not placed directly on the cartilage. It is also important to clean the area around the piercing
Saltwater soaks. Press your ear into a cup or shallow bowl filled with a ¼ teaspoon of non-iodized salt dissolved in 1 cup of warm water. Headphones: I have my daith in the same ear as a tragus and the experience with headphones has been the same. When the piercing is still new, sore, etc. Do not even try to put an earbud in there, your ear will not be happy. After my tragus healed I was able to wear Apple earbuds and other kinds with soft tips(?
I got the large sized beats headphones. They cover my whole ear. My tragus piercing was fine with those headphones. Now my piercing is healed and I can wear all headphones. But in the beginning, I couldn't.
I do a lot of studio work and find that over ear headphones really don’t bother me (multiple helixes, tragus, conch etc.) I avoided them during the healing period of course but now I’m golden, shop around and try various ones on and you will likely find a comfortable pair. I also manage to use earbuds with my tragus and it’s no problem.
You gotta wait until it is fully healed. Tragus piercings often take more than six months. Additionally, if your airpods are very large, they might always irritate your piercing if they are constantly moving it. I’d look into some other headphones. Hi ChickenSignal3762, Welcome to r/piercing !
Here are some tips for caring for your new conch piercing: • Clean the area twice a day with a saline solution or a mild soap and water. • Avoid touching your piercing with dirty hands - wash hands before cleaning your piercing. • Avoid sleeping on the side of your conch piercing - to prevent friction and pressure.
Generally, you should avoid earbuds until your new piercing close enough to touch it, If you really want to heal your piercing fast just stop wearing earbuds for 2-4 weeks. After 1 week of your daith pierced you can wear silicone earbuds Because silicone earbuds are softer than the Apple Airpods. silicone earbuds are more of a domed cone shape
Once your piercings have healed, its time to enjoy things the way you did before! You can safely wear headphones and earbuds as usual! It may take some experimenting to find ways and jewelry styles that work with them, but it is possible! For things like conch and tragus piercings, ensure they are downsized properly.
